Hello every one. this is the horsman, and I would like to tell you a story...

We all know of Chernobyl and Prypiat, but for those of you who dont allow me to fill you in.

Date: April 26 1986.
Place: Chernobyl Nuclear Power plant, Ukrain.

On 26 April 1986, at 01:23 (UTC+3), reactor four suffered a catastrophic power increase, leading to explosions in its core. This dispersed large quantities of radioactive fuel and core materials into the atmosphere and ignited the combustible graphite moderator. The burning graphite moderator increased the emission of radioactive particles, carried by the smoke, as the reactor had not been encased by any kind of hard containment vessel. The accident occurred during an experiment scheduled to test a potential safety emergency core cooling feature, which took place during a normal shutdown procedure.

the people surounding the area were evacuated as fire fighters tried to fight the fire, many sucomed to high radiation doses or severe burns and died very badly.

soon after teams of clean up crews called "Liquidators" arrived officialy 32 died not counting two in a helicopter crash, unoficialy the death to is suspected to be much higher. the soviets tried to hush it up but a swedish nuclear physisit who was visiting the area around Chernobyl found high concentration of radiation when he tested his gieger counter. The govorment was forced to evacuate over 50,000 people. they said that they would be allowed to return in two days.

they never were allowed to return

as clean up persited very few people noticed that not all the citizens had been acounted for.

800 to be exact.

these people, mostly familys who lived in Prypiat their whole lives and did not want to leave, others were arogent, or stupid, enough to think they could ride it out in their bomb shelters or cellers.

no trace of them was ever found.

beliving they sucumed to radiation not much of an effort was put into finding them. about a month after the disaster a serch party was sent out, it was considerd low priority and the crew were not well trained.

not all of them returned.

two men; Leroy Porokhov and Anton Kargeski wandered away from the group and failed to return, it was belived that they either wandred into a heavely iradiated part of the city or fallen into a pool of contaminated water.

over the next 26 years people were banned from coming anywhere near the city. however, indaviduals or small groups snuck in, mostly teenagers or university students on holiday looking for a cheap thrill. None returned, the Russian govorment used them as a waring to the rest of the world, but still the disaperences were worrisome.

but over the years Chernobyl drew little intrest from the public at large, and the mystery of the 800 deterioated into a cult legend. that is  until the Juex incident

Maragold Juex was a 18 year old senior at the Sourbun, and in March 2010 she and a group 5 friends were asinged a project; over spring break they had to visit a forigen location that had suffered a disaster of some kind and do a report on it, they chose Chernobyl.

they were suposed to be gone for a week at the most, but for almost a month no one heard from them. Then Marigold turned up Dityatki (A Checkpoint that marked the area of the exclusion zone) and she had a very strange story to tell.

the way Marigold told the story; she and her friends along with Yuri a local guide showed up inside Chernobyl at about 10:00 in the morning and spent the day exploring, taking photos, gathering evidence and shuch. at 5:30 the sun began to set and Yuri called the group back to the van. at this point in the telling she became incoheant, BUT it was dicerned from her ramblings that the car failed to start, the friends were set upon by... something.

when Marigold was found she was taken to a hospital and examined by a team of doctors. apart from being dehidrated, malnorished and genraly filthy; she had bite and scrach marks on her arms and face, the bites were ruled as animal, but a dentist who helped examine her noticed that the tooth shapes were remarkably close to human dental patterns. Mmmm....

Marigolds claims that the attackers were "Sub human" were dissmised as the ravings of a mad women suffering post traumatic stress, still the mystery lives on.

what happened to the lost 800? What happened to Anton and Leroy? what happened to all those who vanished in Chernobyl? Who attacked Marigold? we might never find out. but... let just say the sarcofogas was'nt just built to keep the radiation in.

I know it sounds like Chernobyl Diaries but its not. No Jesse Mccartny, no ass backward plot line, no jump scares. Its Really much more grounded, like I put some actual EFFORT into it instread of slamming it together.
